BLUFF LAKE NATURE CENTER
This lovely little nature resource is a great spot to enjoy a short nature walk right in the middle suburbia.
I love these spots because it means we can fit in a quick jaunt around a pond or through the trees, but still fit in some nearby errands 😆
There were tons of summer camps going on while we were there, but the camp counselors were kind enough to say hi to my kids and introduce them to some of the bugs and flowers the camp kiddos were learning about that day.
🌾There is a 1 mile loop around the lake, plus a .4 mile loop near the creek. Great for families!
🌾There are “nature play” stations throughout the preserve! These are fun spots for kids to explore how wildlife lives, and play a little 😆 My kids especially loved the stumps and the nest
🌾Portapotties are available near the parking lot!
🌾Speaking of parking…it’s pretty limited! But even with a bustling summer camp, we still snagged a spot.
🌾Bring bug spray! 🐜 This is a wildlife preserve with a creek and pond, so little buzzy friends are flying everywhere, like they do best. We were not prepared and ended up cutting our loop short 😂 (but we’re wimps too so take that with a grain of salt)
We rounded out this trip with a visit to the Stanley Marketplace (less than 10 min away) for some lunch and ice cream, making it the perfect day! ☀️
