CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ZOO 🦒
This zoo is one of the best hands-on activities in the front range, giving families so many opportunities to get up close with exotic animals.
Never have I been to a zoo that offers so many up close interactions! From the wallabies to peacocks to penguins to budgies 🐦 we always feel totally immersed at this zoo!
Feeding the giraffes is a MUST. For a few bucks, it’s an accessible activity for many families. And even if you don’t have the leaves to feed them, it’s just so cool to be up close to these gentle giants. They love to come over to you for a pet 🥰
You can feed other animals too for higher fees, we didn’t try these out on any of our last visits but I definitely have feeding the elephants on my bucket list 🐘
🐐 There’s a petting zoo where kids can brush goats and interact with them, and nearby there’s two playgrounds to help them get out some wiggles .
You can also get a full view of the zoo in the Mountaineer Sky Ride 🚡 A ski-chair type of ride that takes you up the mountain. This isn’t included with the admission but it’s worth it!
🎟 Please note: you DO need a timed entry ticket for this zoo. It remains a super popular attraction and it’s not a huge zoo, so to make it enjoyable for the masses, they stagger entry. Make sure you buy a ticket BEFORE you get there, they WILL turn you away if you don’t have one.
🍿 They do have concessions, but bring a water bottle and snacks for good measure! You are allowed to bring in a cooler for lunch too 🥪 Just no glass or booze 🍸
