RIFLE FALLS STATE PARK 💦
A day trip away (Or a great excuse to stay/camp out near Glenwood Springs, like we did), Rifle Falls was unique and accessible for all levels.
🥾You can stop in to visit the falls, or you can hike to the top and view the falls from up above.
🌲You can peer into caves, or climb into all the crevices.
-You can take a short walk, or hike along the stream to the either end of the park.
🍃 You can visit for a few hours, or camp on the grounds.
This was a perfect exploratory spot for our kids. There was so much to climb on, climb in, touch, feel, jump on, and see. My tiny one who normally prefer to be carried really enjoyed getting out of the Osprey to explore all the caves, and they loved getting up close to the water fall.
And for all your nerds out there like me, I really felt strongly that the waterfall looked like something out of the Shire. 🧝♀️🤓
This is a state park so it does require a fee. We got there earlyish (around 9) and had no trouble parking. There’s not a ton closeby, so bring snacks (there are potties though!).
This is a day trip I highly recommend. You can also stay nearby in Glenwood Springs if you want to take a dip in the hot springs, but that’s another post for another day 🙃
