Soda Beach at Bear Creek Lake

SODA BEACH AT BEAR CREEK LAKE PARK 🛶

This has easily become one of our favorite self-care-with-the-family days. Relaxing at a lake with beach play and kayaking at my disposal, PLUS some great views, means that everyone is happy. 🏖

Bear Creek Lake Park only costs $10 for a day pass and it’s only 40ish minutes from Castle Rock, and there’s plenty to do (fishing, camping, archery, biking), but we love posting up on Soda Beach for the day!

🏝 There’s plenty of beach area, but only part is marked off for beach kid fun. The rest is open to water sports and people climbing in and out.

🛶 Kayak, canoe, and paddle board rentals are ready to go for you and start at just $25 (which includes the life jacket if you don’t have one). You can also make reservations ahead of time!

🚤 No big boats on this lake, so you won’t have to deal with crazy wakes! It’s so serene to just sit on your kayak/board/canoe and take it in ☺️

🚽 There are bathroom facilities to change in and do the business!

🍕 There are concessions for when your kids decide that the lunch you packed is garbage and they prefer ice cream as a meal 🍦

🌳 There’s a playground! It’s not huge, but it has a bouncy ground great for little walkers and it always keeps my kids very entertained.

⛰ Once you’re out on the lake, there’s an excellent view of Red Rocks 🎵 Which makes it completely worth paddling out to the center of the lake!
