Wide Awake Eatery - Dinner

Wide Awake Eatery: The sign says "Not Just Breakfast" so I had to see for myself what they are offering in the evening. The result: an upscale night out with beautiful (and excellent) dishes that rivaled many date night spots in South Denver! Everything was so presentable, it was hard to eat these works of art.

The appetizers can be small plates or shareable, depending on your group and palate. From tender New Zealand Lamb, to lemony Roasted Artichoke, to savory Million Dollar Bacon, these are more than just filler foods (aka not just mozzarella sticks, these are flavorful bites that get you ready for more. We LOVED the Lamb dish, I could order that for myself for the future!

We enjoyed our main entrees as well: My husband had a huge pork chop that was cooked and seasoned perfectly to his tasting, and I had a plentiful Mushroom & Bacon Rigatoni dish. We left nothing behind because it was so tasty.

And don't sleep on the drinks: Yes they served breakfast lunch and dinner, but the cocktails are top notch. From spicy to sweet, classic to trendy...or if you simply want a pour of wine or a draft beer, they have it all! They have great brunch cocktails, but since we were there for dinner we had their twist on an Old Fashioned and I had a dessert-type of cocktail: Bananas Fosters Two Ways. I would very much recommend this drink to round out your meal in place of dessert! It was sweet, a little boozy, and came in a gorgeous little tulip glass.

I must mention the patio! It sits over Plum Creek and has a beautiful view of the Rock. You can watch the world go by in front of Festival Park, so dining here will really make you feel a part of the action.

You can make reservations at their website! So bring the girls, bring a date, even bring the family! Kids meals are only $5 (amazing) and they are most definitely welcome.
