WINGS OVER THE ROCKIES ✈️

This incredible family-friendly aviation museum is PACKED with Colorado history! At every plaque, I was turning to my family and saying, “Did you know…?” 🤯

It’s so much more than just a bunch of planes in an old hangar. There’s an abundance of history here JUST from Colorado. The museum is the former location of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower used to spend his summers here. And there’s a whole section just on space travel and astronauts from Colorado 🚀

And yes, there’s an area for kids to let loose! It’s packed with aviation make-believe toys, plus areas for kids to get artistic. 🖍

If you’re a history nerd, you gotta go. 🤓 And if you’re not, you will still have a great time! My kids know very little about planes and had a blast 🤩

Highlights for us:

🪐 X-Wing from Star Wars signed by a bunch of the cast!

🌙 Seeing a real moon rock (my daughter was AMAZED at this)

🎖 Learning about Air Force Base history, given that it was a hot spot during WW2. We loved all the memorabilia.

You won’t find a café, just some snacks. But head next door to The Lowry Beer Garden for meals, drinks and snacks! 🍔
